At an early age, we were taught to trust others. Our parents, teachers, and other adults were our role models and we looked up to them. Trust is a natural extension of love. After a while, compliance replaced trust as the mode we had to follow. We lost track of our own desires in order to conform to the requirements of this world.
So how do we trust ourselves? First, know thyself. Find out who you are by exploring the beliefs and thoughts that you have. Are they all serving your greatest good? Do you even know what your greatest good is right now? Self-discovery is essential to trusting yourself. If you don’t know what you want or why you want it, it may be challenging to trust your intuition and inner guidance.
Self-love is an integral component of trusting yourself. Do you feel worthy of love? Are you at cross-purposes with your desires and your daily activities? Seek within for the answers to your questions. Mediation, yoga, and other forms of inner focus help you to listen to your heart and let the worries of the mind relax.
Practice is the only way to get better at trusting yourself. Once you have found this energy within you, you will discover and enhance your creativity, relationships, work, and connection to divine spirit. Accept yourself just as you are. Trust that what you desire is best for you. Follow your bliss and welcome your inner knowledge into your life. You are doing great just as you are and expanding into even more love and trust.
