Focusing on Lack?

Focusing on Lack?
by BlackLion

I have learned a great deal about lack over the course of my life. I’ve learned about the lack of money, the lack of time, and especially the lack of control. I learned all these things from my parents, my community, my teachers, and my friends. These lessons weren’t delivered maliciously, but rather with just a general propensity to teach what they have learned. By absorbing and believing these beliefs I find myself, even now, focusing on lack rather than abundance and love.

When I follow my beliefs about lack, I feel pretty crummy. I blind myself to the beautiful and wonderful things in my life, and focus only on the things I don’t have. I don’t enjoy the feeling of lack, of seeing the world in shades of gray.

If you find yourself worried about lack, what can you do about it? First, recognize that your life is full of joy, laughter, and fun, just waiting to happen. Focus on the things that bring you happiness and your feeling of lack will subside. When you come to understand that life is always abundant, always full of love, and always available to you, you can let go of the feeling of lack in your life.

Essentially, what you want and the lack of what you want are two sides of the same coin. If you tend to focus on the lack of love in your life, notice instead the love that surrounds you. Recognized and be thankful for what you have right now, rather than thinking about how to get more. When you are constantly seeking, you will never reach your destination. If things seem out of control, focus on your own power and strength and recognize that we each create the life and circumstances we experience. Focus on being the way you want to be, not on what you do not like about yourself or others. Really see the world and its many vibrant colors.
