May is our anniversary month, and we love to celebrate! This is our 3rd annual Faerie Travelogue, where we’ve documented our anniversary adventures. We love to share our playfulness. Catch a glimpse of our recent journey to the Kennebunks!
Our objective was to have fun, and we felt like doing some walking. Drawn to the ocean, we started off in a lovely little historic village. We felt like kids as we set out on our journey!
Allowing the magic to enter our souls, we followed where it led us. First we entered an amazing spinning forest. The wind was playful and kept everything in motion.
We met some curious beings there. This fellow gazed out his window at us, still sporting his winter garb.
These two pups were ready for summer, all decked out in their finery!
And we saw a school in session, though not in the water…
After some meandering, we decided that we needed to fuel up.
So we headed for a treat – ice cream!
After our faerie senses were abuzz, we looked for some fae places to explore. Beyond an invisible fence (which, strangely, we could see just fine)…
…there was a path. Its mystery and beauty drew us forward.
Tucked away, we found a cool temple made of stone.
BlackLion felt right at home peeking about. He pounced Starcat playfully!
In a bush of bright pink flowers, we bee-friended some honey makers.
A wolf friend kept watch over the path as it wove through the woods along the river.
And we encountered many faerie communities, both large…
…and small.
After weaving through the woods for miles, we came upon a stone pathway…
…which led to the beach!
So we took a little break while BlackLion contemplated the ocean view.
We rested our tired feet and stretched our toes.
When we started to head back, we encountered a winding path with a snail friend still hiking her way along the beach.
Soon, we wound our own way back inland
And saw a strange sign
“Carnivorous Whelks?” Starcat exclaimed. She was very glad to find a way to avoid having her toes munched.
Around a bend, we came upon another portal…
…looked inside, and found more Love! We are blessed with lots of it!
On our path back to town, we took the high ground (remembering that those carnivorous whelks were still about)…
…and walked off into the sunset.
We ended our adventure with a lovely anniversary dinner very appropriate to our time at the seaside. We had seaweed salad, spring rolls, and sushi. We don’t eat fish but we love seaweed-wrapped rice and veggies dipped into wasabi-laden soy sauce. Wasabi is our favorite…yum!
We are excited about where our joyful adventures will take us next!
